GCO presents $3.1 million check at Sunday’s Redskins game

GCO Consulting Group Managing Principal Scott Davidson took the field at Sunday’s Washington Redskins game to bolster the team’s charitable efforts with a check for $3.1 million.

Davidson accompanied other members of the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation’s Leadership Council, which helped raise the funds to support children’s charities throughout Washington, Maryland and Virginia.

“It’s an incredible feeling, just knowing the impact these donations have on the lives of children in our community and being a part of it,” Davidson said. “I’m honored to be a member of the charitable foundation’s Leadership Council and look forward to the good work ahead.”

The charitable foundation has given back more than $26 million to the community since its start in 2000. The Leadership Council is at the forefront of those efforts.

Davidson joined the leadership council earlier this year. The retired Army captain and head of GCO Consulting Group has contributed to the foundation for the past several years.

Among other contributions, GCO Consulting Group served as presenting sponsor of the foundation’s major annual fundraiser, the Redskins Welcome Home Luncheon, in each of the past two years. The luncheons raised more than $1 million to fund education and wellness programs for children, including, Loads of Love. The charity builds laundry facilities at local schools to ensure kids have access to clean clothing.
